workshops
Keen to learn for yourself?
Come get inky in one of our small-group workshops. They’re relaxed, hands-on and totally beginner-friendly.
ok but… what the heck is riso?
basically a photocopier’s cooler, brighter, inkier cousin.
Risograph printing works a bit like screen printing, building an image one colour at a time.
Each print is made with soy-based inks, a rice paper stencil, and no heat - making it super enviromentally friendly!
The result is bright colour, grainy texture, unexpected overlaps and tiny misalignments that make every print feel a little bit unique. It’s a tactile process that makes the most of happy accidents.
One colour at a time, baby. Pick your inks, prep each colour layer, then we run them through the Riso and watch the magic stack up.
so, how does it work?
01
Colour picking
Choose your flavours. Pick the ink colours you want and how many layers your artwork needs.
02
Prepare your layers
→
Each colour gets its own artwork layer. Don’t panic, we can help you get everything print-ready.
03
Print + overlap
Each layer gets printed separately, building up texture, surprise colours and all those delicious little Riso quirks.

upcoming workshops
Join Billie, designer and founder of The Print Deli, for a hands-on introduction to Risograph printing. You’ll learn how the process works, get familiar with the printer and create your own edition of two-colour prints to take home.
We’ll cover the basics of masters, ink drums, colour layers and registration, then put it all into practice by making a two-colour print from start to finish.
The workshop is playful and low-pressure, with a focus on working by hand. We’ll use drawing, collage, cutting and layering techniques before scanning your artwork directly through the Riso.
There’s no need to prepare anything beforehand, but you’re welcome to bring along an idea if you already have one.
This workshop is suitable for all levels of experience and beginners are very welcome. With a maximum of 6 participants, there’s plenty of time to learn the machine and have a proper go yourself.
What will we do?
We’ll be working completely analogue throughout the workshop.
• Collage or illustration: Use markers, paper, old magazines, cutting, tearing and collage techniques to create your artwork by hand.
• Scan straight to the Riso: We’ll use the Risograph’s built-in scanner to turn your handmade artwork into a printable master, so you can see how the machine translates your marks, textures and shapes.
• Build a two-colour print: Choose two colours from The Print Deli ink selection and print your artwork one layer at a time. You’ll see how colour, texture, overlap and registration work together in the final print.
No laptops or digital artwork are needed. Everything is made by hand and printed directly through the Riso.
